Frequently Asked Questions

Questions are part of getting clear.

Run Clear is designed to make complicated things easier to understand. The same should be true of Run Clear itself.

Open any question below for a straightforward answer.

Run Clear is a thinking and decision-support tool designed to help you slow things down, understand what is in front of you, and find a clearer way forward when a situation feels confusing, emotional, complicated, or overwhelming.

Instead of simply telling you what to do, Run Clear helps organize the situation so you can make your own decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

Run Clear is built specifically around clarity, decision making, and the principles of Tactical Ownership. Its job is not just to produce an answer. It is designed to help make sense of the situation behind the question.

That means recognizing what is known, what may be assumed, what could make the situation worse, what options or support may be available, and what useful pieces may already be working.

Tactical Ownership is the practical decision-making framework Run Clear grew from. It focuses on separating facts from emotions, recognizing risks, identifying available options and support, and finding the next clear move.

Run Clear uses that structure as part of its reasoning foundation, including the 5W framework.

The 5W principles can help guide Run Clear in the background, but normal conversation is not forced into a five-question checklist.

If you want the framework made explicit, Run Clear also includes a dedicated 5W mode that walks through the situation in a more structured way.

You do not need to fit your situation into a category before you start. You can bring Run Clear a question, decision, confusing message, difficult conversation, document, image, or simply explain what is going on.

You also do not need to know the perfect question. Sometimes figuring out what to ask is part of the process.

Yes. You can choose to upload images and documents for analysis. That can be useful for things such as screenshots, notices, letters, forms, or other information that may be easier to understand when Run Clear can see what you are looking at.

Only share material you are comfortable submitting for analysis.

Run Clear can maintain conversation history and saved sessions, and its memory features are designed to reduce unnecessary repetition when useful context carries forward.

Memory is meant to support the conversation—not unnecessarily surface personal information that is unrelated to what you are asking.

No. Run Clear can help you understand information, organize your thinking, identify useful questions, and consider possible next steps, but it is not a substitute for professional judgment, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or other qualified services.

Sometimes the clearest next move is knowing who to ask next.

Run Clear can help you recognize when outside information, professional help, or another resource may add value. The Resource Hub is being built to make useful resources easier to find when they are relevant.

Run Clear is not designed to keep you inside the app. If your right direction leads somewhere else, that is still your right direction.

Resources in the Run Clear Resource Hub are intentionally selected and reviewed before being added. The Resource Hub is curated, not a general internet search or a list of organizations added simply because they are available.

Run Clear looks for resources that provide useful, credible support and fit the purpose of helping people find a clearer next step. Resources are periodically reviewed, and each listing includes a “Last Verified” date so you can see when its information was most recently checked.

Run Clear does not include or prioritize resources because an organization pays to be listed or because including it financially benefits Run Clear.

Run Clear collects information needed to provide the features you choose to use. Depending on how you use the app, that may include account information, messages, images or documents you upload, voice input, approximate location when you explicitly grant permission and a feature requires it, and basic diagnostic information.

Run Clear does not sell your personal information. Optional features such as uploads, voice input, and location access operate when you choose to use them.

Run Clear is currently free to use. We may introduce additional features or service options in the future, but nothing has been finalized yet.

Run Clear is currently available on iPhone through Apple's App Store. As Run Clear grows, additional availability can be announced here without changing what the app promises today.
